Villa Gusi

The villa is a few dozen kilometres from Arezzo, in Casentino, in eastern Tuscany.

Casentino is the name of one of the four valleys that compose the province of Arezzo. Already inhabited in prehistory and then in Etruscan times, as the many finds unearthed in the area called "Lago degli Idoli" (Lake of Idols) demonstrate, Casentino is rich in castles and fortified burgs, including the castles of Poppi and Romena. It was in Casentino that in 1289 was fought the famous battle of Campaldino, in which participated Dante Alighieri.

Casentino is also an oasis of spirituality: the region is indeed scattered with sanctuaries, the most famous being that of Verna, where Saint Francis of Assisi received his stigmata.

Last but not least, in the mountains of Casentino, and precisely on mount Falterona rises the Arno, the most important Tuscan river.

The green Casentino mountains and the nearby city of Arezzo: that is the panorama the windows of the villa and the private swimming pool (14x7 m; depth: 1.50-3 m) open onto.
The elegant recently-built building is surrounded by a fully-fenced garden equipped with outdoor furniture, and two hectares of woodland.
Apart from the swimming pool equipped with parasols and deck chairs, in the garden are also a children's playground, a tennis court, a wood-burning oven, a barbecue and a gazebo furnished with table, chairs and a swing.
In a building near the swimming pool are a table-football table, a billiard, a table-tennis table and a bathroom with shower.

The villa is an excellent accommodation for art and culture lovers, who can visit Arezzo, Sansepolcro, Anghiari, Caprese Michelangelo, Poppi and many other Etruscan and medieval towns in Casentino and Valtiberina. The National Park of Casentino Forests is within easy driving distance. Moreover, guided visits to nearby oil-mills and wineries are organised upon request.

In summer, a person in charge of the cleansing of the swimming pool lives in the apartment adjacent to the villa.

The three-storey building accommodates 12+2 guests in 2 twin bedrooms, 4 double bedrooms and 2 supplementary single beds, and has 5 bathrooms and 1 half bathroom.

The ground floor composes of kitchen, dining room, living room and a half bathroom.
On the first floor are a large lounge with access to a panoramic balcony, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom that can be converted into a double bedroom. Both of them have an ensuite bathroom with shower.
On the second floor are three double bedrooms (two with ensuite bathroom with shower), a twin bedroom and a bathroom with bathtub.

Two more single beds are available upon request.

A porch is furnished for guests to have meals al fresco.
