Location

The property is located near Marina di Campo, on the island of Elba.

Elba is the largest island of the Tuscan Archipelago and the third largest island in Italy after Sicily and Sardinia. Together with the islands of Pianosa, Capraia, Gorgona, Montecristo, Giglio and Giannutri, Elba is part of the Arcipelago Toscano National Park, the largest marine park in Europe.

Renowned for its wonderful beaches, the island of Elba is the largest remaining stretch of land from the ancient tract that once connected the Italian peninsula to Corsica. Many archaeological finds demonstrate that Elba has been inhabited since prehistory. The Etruscans founded several fortified villages on the island, whereas the Romans founded the town presently known as Portoferraio. After the fall of the Roman Empire, Elba was ruled by the Ostrogoths and Longobards, and in the 6th century, it became a place of hermitage. In the early 11th century, the island became a possession of the Republic of Pisa. It is in that period that many municipalities developed and many important churches were erected. However, the island of Elba is mainly renowned because it was the place where Napoleon was exiled in 1814. The fallen emperor had two villas built on the island: Villa dei Mulini and Villa San Martino.


Description

The complex stands near Marina di Campo, in the southern part of the island of Elba, less than 1.5 kilometres from the beach. In proximity to the property are also the villa where Napoleon lived during his exile in 1814, many enthralling inlets and Elba Mining Park in Rio Marina.
Portoferraio and its port with ferries to Piombino are easily reached from the villa.

The complex composes of the main villa and a guesthouse, which are surrounded by a fully fenced garden.
The private swimming pool (17x7 m; depth: 1.20-3 m) lying among the palms is equipped with sun loungers. A stone gazebo stands by the poolside and next to the swimming pool are also an outdoor shower and a toilette.
Guests can take advantage of the grilling equipment and organise pleasant barbecues in the porch furnished for having meals in the open air.


Accommodation

The complex can accommodate 10 guests in 1 twin bedroom and 4 double bedrooms, and has 4 bathrooms.

The main villa can accommodate 6 guests in 3 double bedrooms, and has 3 bathrooms.

On the ground floor are the kitchen, a large sitting room, the dining area, a living room with fireplace, a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower.
The first floor composes of living room with direct access to a balcony and two double bedrooms with private bathroom (one of the bathrooms has a whirlpool bathtub and the second one features a whirlpool shower).

The guesthouse can accommodate 4 guests in 1 twin bedroom and 1 double bedroom, and has a bathroom with shower.

The villa comes with swimming pool, wc and external shower, barbecue equipment, heating system, fireplace, Internet connection, satellite TV, whirlpool shower and bathtub, oven, freezer, lemon-squeezer, toaster, dishwasher, washing machine, cot bed and private car parking space.
A domestic help is supplied upon request.
Guests can rent an umbrella at special prices on the nearby beach of Marina di Campo.
Dinners are organised at the property upon request.
Guests are offered a welcome aperitif on the beach.

Shops and services of any kind are 1.2 kilometres from the complex.
