Surrounded by the olive groves and the vineyards that form the typical Tuscan landscape, the villa stands atop a hill in Valdera, in a small medieval village just a few kilometres from Volterra, the town of alabaster, in the province of Pisa.

Valdera is a region situated south-east of Pisa, in which wide plains alternate with hills rich in century-old forests. It is the ideal holiday destination for those who love trekking and mountain biking, but also for those who want to devote to their well-being and for sea lovers: many spa and seaside resorts are within easy driving distance of the villa. Thanks to its strategic position in the heart of Tuscany, the villa is also an excellent accommodation for those who want to visit all the major Tuscan cities of art, including Pisa, Florence, Lucca, Siena and San Gimignano.


Description

The Liberty building stands atop a hill commanding the town of Volterra and the surrounding countryside. Built in the mid-19th century, the villa is furnished and decorated with furnishings and paintings of the same period.

In front of the living room and the kitchen stretches a stone-paved garden furnished for having meals in the open air, whereas the pergola opens onto the wonderful panorama of the town of Volterra.

The private swimming pool (10x4 m; depth: 1.30 m) lies in the garden below, and is accessed through a brick staircase. The swimming pool with salt water has a whirlpool corner. The pool side is furnished with sunshades and sun loungers.


Accommodation

The villa can accommodate 10+3 guests in 3 twin bedrooms, 2 double bedrooms and 3 supplementary single beds; it also has 3 bathrooms.

The ground floor consists in fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room, frescoed sitting room, reading room, storeroom, a double bedroom that can be converted into a twin bedroom and a bathroom with shower.
On the first floor are two twin bedrooms (that can be converted into double bedrooms), two double bedrooms (one with canopied bed) and two bathrooms (one with bathtub and one with shower).

Three supplementary single beds can be added in three bedrooms.

The villa comes with swimming pool with whirlpool area, slide, table-tennis table, swing, barbecue, air conditioning, Internet connection, cable radio, satellite TV, DVD player, microwave oven, electric oven, dishwasher, washing machine, ironing set, cot bed, hair-dryer and private car parking space.
Guests can purchase typical Tuscan products.
The following activities are organized upon request: food-and-wine tours, typical Tuscan dinners, Italian language lessons, art lessons, cooking lessons and guided tours to the most important Tuscan cities of art.
A cook, a baby sitter and breakfast and maid services are supplied upon request.

A riding stable and tennis club are within 8 kilometres from the estate.
A golf club and the spas of Casciana Terme are 15 kilometres from the property.
