Location

The apartment is located near Castiglione della Pescaia, a municipality in the province of Grosseto, in Tuscan Maremma.

As numerous archaeological finds demonstrate, the territory of Castiglione della Pescaia was once inhabited by the Etruscans and the Romans. A famous Etruscan settlement is nearby Vetulonia, with its walls dating back to the 6th-5th century BC.

At first under the rule of the Republic of Pisa, then a free commune up to the 15th century, when the Aragoneses conquered it, in the 16th century Castiglione della Pescaia became part of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, although it maintained a certain degree of autonomy.

After having been an important port town, nowadays Castiglione della Pescaia has become a famed seaside resort also known as "little Switzerland" or "the Switzerland of Maremma". Its territory is rich in nature reserves, two of the most important being the Nature Reserve of Diaccia Botrona and the Sanctuary of Cetaceans.


Description

The elegant apartment is part of a villa immersed in a green pinewood and standing a few metres from the magnificent beaches of Punta Ala.
In proximity to the apartment are a golf club and a riding stable, whereas Porto Santo Stefano and the Natural Park of Uccellina are easily reached by car for wonderful one-day trips at the discovery of Maremma natural beauties. The ferries to the isle of Elba leave from Piombino, a few kilometres from the apartment.

A private garden divided into a living and a dining area stretches around the apartment. The barbecue equipment is at guests' disposal outside.

The apartment is on the ground floor; it can accommodate 4 guests in 1 twin bedroom and 1 double bedroom, and has 2 bathrooms.

In detail, it consists of kitchen, living/dining room with direct access to the garden, a twin bedroom, a double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with shower and a second bathroom with shower.
