The original Medici villa built by Francesco I Medici as mansion for his second wife Bianca Cappello was distroyed; later the Demidoff family bought the property, restoring a secondary building as their own house and modernizing the style of the surrounding park.
This Mugello villa deserves a visit for its park enriched by fountains, choreographed water features and statues among which the Colosso dell’Appennino stands out. If you are on holiday with your kids i twill be fun for them as well to spend a day in the open air, run along the paths of the park and lay down on the grass.
