Location

The farmhouse stands on the hills around Cortona, which in the past was one of the 12 most important Etruscan cities. It was the Etruscans that built the city walls that are still partly visible.

During the Middle Ages Cortona, which in the 13th century became a free commune, was involved in the struggle between Guelfs and Ghibellines that racked Tuscany, and in the 15th century became part of the Florentine Republic.

Apart from being the seat of important museums and cultural events, Cortona has been the set of such famous films as "Under the Tuscan Sun" and "Life is Beautiful".


Description

The elegant stone farmhouse dating from the 11th century is the ideal accommodation for those who desire to relax in the peaceful Tuscan mountains.

The building is surrounded by a garden in which are the private swimming pool (8x12 m; depth: 1.60 m) furnished with sun loungers, deck chairs and sunshades, the barbecue equipment, a swing, a children's playground with slide, table-tennis table and table-football table and a gazebo furnished for guests to have meals al fresco.

The organic fruit and vegetables produced in the farmhouse are at guests' disposal.

In proximity to the farmhouse are a golf club, a riding stable and a tennis club; many Tuscan cities of art, including Arezzo, Anghiari and Sansepolcro, are easily reached by car for pleasant one-day trips.


Accommodation

The two-story building is divided into four apartments, can accommodate 8+7 guests in 4 double bedrooms, 3 supplementary single beds and 2 double sofa beds and has 4 bathrooms.

Each apartment composes of kitchen, a double bedroom and a bathroom.
An apartment on the ground floor and an apartment on the first floor have a living room with a double sofa bed.
Three supplementary single beds can be added in three bedrooms.
The kitchen of one of the apartments on the ground floor is used as the common dining room.

The farmhouse comes with swimming pool with whirlpool corner, slide, swing, table-tennis table, table-football table, barbecue equipment, bicycles, Internet connection, satellite TV, DVD player, oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine, cot beds and private car parking space.
A cook, a baby sitter and maid and breakfast services are supplied upon request.

Shops and services of any kind are 3 kilometres from the farmhouse.
A riding stable is 8 kilometres from the estate.
A golf club is 18 kilometres from the property.
A tennis club is 20 kilometres from the farmhouse.
