The Teatro Verdi stands in Via Verdi at the corner with Via Ghibellina, close to Piazza Santa Croce. The Teatro Verdi was built in 1838 in the same place where previously stood the 14th-century prison called
Le Stinche.
Today, the Teatro Verdi presents every year a prestigious prose and ballet programme.
