Founded in the 13th century, the Universitΰ degli Studi di Siena is only younger than the Universities of Bologna, Parma, Modena and Reggio Emilia. The University of Siena features at present eight faculties (Economy; Pharmacology; Law; Engineering; Humanities and Philosophy; Medicine; Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences; Political Sciences) and has about 20,000 students.
