Villa La Pietraia
Villa Petraia belonged first to Brunelleschi, then to Strozzi and lastly was bought by Medici family. From the 13th to the 16th century Villa Petraia was a rustic farmhouse provided with a hill fort, some stables and an oven. Around the half of the 16th century Ferdinando de’ Medici commissioned Buontalenti so that he would change this farmhouse in a patrician villa: the result was a magnificent villa that has been enriched until the 19th century. With Vittorio Emanuele II, who changed the innern furniture, it became a private residence. Today
Villa La Petraia is provided with a splendid italian garden and a wide english garden
