The Castle Villas Arnetoli has ancient origins which date back to Romans. Pantius was a Roman soldier; when he retired, he received many hectares of land and he built his house on this hill. In the Middle Age, the house became a feud of the Buondelmonti family who transformed it in one of their various castles building the oldest part we can see today. During the centuries, the history of the castle goes along with first the Florentine Republic, then with the Tuscan Gran Duchy until the Italian Reign. Finally, it became a property of the Fabbroni Counts: they gave their name to the castle, restored it and used it as a hunting house. When Florence were the capital of Italy, the King Vittorio Emanuele II stayed here. In the past, the surroundings lands were rich in game and in vineyards which were supposed to produce wines very similar to the Bordeaux wines.
