Tavarnelle Val di Pesa Museums - Museum of Sacred Art
Museum of Sacred Art in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa
The museum is the result of the co-operation of various institutions (the Municipality of Tavernelle Val di Pesa, the parishes of San Pietro and Santa Lucia in Tavarnelle, Florence Diocesan Curia, Florence Superintendences and the regional administration).
The museum is located in the vicarage of San Pietro in Bossolo and preserves works of art and documents coming from the churches scattered in the neighbourhood. Many interesting paintings by Neri di Bicci, Lorenzo di Bicci, Jacopo da Empoli, Giovanni Montini and others are to be admired, together with a collection of silver canonicals (an ostensory dating back to the early 18th century, a 15th-century chalice and other church furnishings produced in famous Florentine silversmith`s workshops).
